Our Story

« It all began with a story, a willingness to make others happy. »

Jacques Desfossey, a builder at heart, was originally a mustard producer. However, his passion for the hotel industry and service led him to make an ambitious career shift.

His hotel business began in the 1980s with the inauguration of Arcade Hotel, a 40-room franchise located in the city center of Beaune, complemented by its own restaurant, Le Tournebroche, and catering service. But the story doesn’t end there, he then decided to add another string to his bow by launching a travel agency alongside his existing activities.

His love for his profession reflected in his collaborators, inspiring a company culture where integrity, efficiency, and education were at the heart of all initiatives. In 2000, the group united with the acquisition of Ibis and Ibis Budget in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 2003 and 2004.

Afterward, the group expanded its presence in Pouilly-en-Auxois, Pontarlier, and Chalon-sur-Saône. Each time, the strategy involved establishing, transforming, renovating, and expanding existing properties to position them within their historical context, offering a modern client experience while creating long-term value.

In 2009, the construction of Ibis Styles Beaune took place on the grounds of a family property. It was a complex project in many aspects, due to the construction site being in the heart of Beaune, which entailed significant technical challenges. The hotel opened its doors three years later and became the leading hotel in the city center of Beaune.
